Experience
Lake Dawn Safari
A quiet paddle across Phewa Lake before the city wakes — herons, low mist and the first light on the mountains.
About this experience
At half past five the lake is glass. We meet at the hotel jetty, settle you into a two-person kayak, and push out while the street lights are still on and the herons are the only other thing moving.
The route stays close to the shore, past the island temple and through the reed beds where kingfishers hunt. Near the far bank we rest, pour tea, and watch the sun reach the Annapurna range before the first tourist boats appear.
