A house on the lake
Hotel Udaharan began as a six-room guesthouse run by the Gurung family and has grown, slowly and on purpose, into a thirty-two room hotel. We kept the things that mattered: the garden, the home kitchen, and the habit of learning every guest's name.
Where we are
We sit on Lakeside Marg in Baidam, a five-minute walk from the boats on Phewa Lake and a ten-minute drive from Pokhara's old bazaar. The Annapurna range is the view from the rooftop terrace; the lake is the view from the garden.
How we cook
Breakfast changes with the morning market — sel roti and curd, eggs from the farm up the hill, seasonal fruit, and coffee roasted in Pokhara. Dinner is a short, changing menu of Nepali and Newari dishes.
